How enrollment works
Tour the room
See the classroom your child would join and meet the teachers who run it. You can ask about hours, meals and pickups while you are there. Miss Denise and the other teachers are glad to answer questions. Bring your child so the room is not new on the first day.
Enroll and settle in
Complete enrollment and plan a first week that suits your child's routine. Our school was designed for a safe and consistent environment attuned to your child's growth. You are the primary influence in your child's maturing process, so tell us how you want the days to go. We will keep you posted as your child settles.
What to have ready
Most families bring enrollment forms, a health form with immunization records, emergency contacts and the names of people allowed to pick up their child. Fill out the forms before the first day so the first morning is calm. If you are not sure what is needed, ask the office. They will tell you.
Pack a change of clothes, outdoor gear for the season, nap items if your child rests, and a comfort object from home. Label everything with your child's name. A bin or bag keeps it all in one place. Then your child knows where to find it.
Before the first day, sort out your drop-off routine, who picks up, and how you want to hear about the day. Tell your child's teacher the plan in the morning. That way everyone knows what to expect at pickup. Small things like this make the first week easier.

The first days are often shorter than the ones that follow. A familiar object from home can help. Your child's teacher greets them by name and helps them find something to do. You can call to check in.
At pickup, teachers tell you how the day went, what your child ate and how they rested. Ask questions as they come up. Some children settle in a few days, others take longer. Both are normal.

Yes, a tour is how most families decide. Bring your child along; they can see the rooms and meet Miss Denise while you ask questions.
What should my child bring on the first day?

What does a typical day include?
A day is built around arrival, play and learning, meals and rest, outdoor time, and pickup. Small Scholars keeps a balance between academic instruction and play. Children get to be kids while they learn. Ask about the schedule for your child's age group.
How will I know how my child is doing?
Teachers share how the day went at pickup, and you can ask questions then. Many of our teachers have been here for 10+ years, so they know each child well. If you need to check in during the day, call the office and they will pass a message along.
Do you offer part-time or flexible schedules?
Schedules depend on your child's age group and what openings we have right now. Call the school and ask which program fits your child and what times are available.
What if there is no place right now?
If your child's age group is full, ask us to note your name and reach out when a place opens. We cannot promise a date, but we will call you as soon as one comes up.
What should I ask on the tour?
Ask about hours, meals, pickup and what to pack. Ask how the first weeks are handled for your child's age. Ask how the day runs, so you know what your child will be doing. Good questions make the decision easier.
